PepsiCo, America’s second largest soft drink manufacturer, has committed to reducing the amount of sugar in their production line of beverages. The change is a result of a shifting public perception away from sugar, which has recently been linked to obesity and an augmented risk of heart disease. By 2025 Pepsi hopes to have two thirds of their globally produced beverages contain less than 100 calories of added sugar.
